One of Scotland’s foremost contemporary textile artists, Deirdre Nelson is artist in residence for the Cateran’s Common Wealth ‘Common Ground’ project. From Spring to summer 2017, she’ll be working with schools and community groups around the Trail to design and make new textiles inspired by new aerial photography and place name research. One of Deirdre’s goals is to walk the Cateran Trail herself and she is inviting anyone who wants to, to join her!
9.30am start, meet in the Glen Isla Hotel Car Park bring your own map and water and food provisions for the walk and arrange your own pick up and drop off.
Free. No Booking required.
Please note, you join us on this walk at your own risk, responsible for your own safety and as part of an autonomous group, in which each member has a duty of care to each other. This is no different from the responsibilities you have on a casually arranged weekend walk with friends or family in the UK.
You can download the Cateran Trail Leaflet here which gives estimates of how long it takes to walk each stage and a guide as to the difficulty of the walk. Please consider carefully whether you are physically able to walk each stage before joining us.
